A Letter From Father Arthur

Dear OLPH Community,

I am writing to share that at the conclusion of the 2026–2027 school year, Dr. Caroline Flynn will step down as Principal of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic School to accept the Head of School position at St. Mary’s School in Memphis, beginning in July 2027.

Dr. Flynn joined OLPH in July 2019 as the Dean of Academics and was appointed Principal in 2020. At a time that required steady leadership, she helped bring continuity and direction to the school, guiding our community through the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic and the years that followed.

During Dr. Flynn’s tenure, OLPH has experienced meaningful growth and progress. Enrollment has increased by 21%, and several important campus projects have been completed, including enhancements to classroom and athletic spaces, the replacement of the gym floor, the relocation of the Art Room, and the addition of the Smart Lab. Additional improvements include the refurbishing of the baseball/softball facility, two classroom remodels and campus security upgrades, including Holy Family Hall, the parish office and the PLC. The school has also expanded participation in state voucher programs to increase access for families, and strengthened its fundraising efforts to support its long-term sustainability.

We are grateful to have this time to prepare thoughtfully for the next chapter. In the months ahead, we will focus on ensuring a smooth and well supported transition for our faculty, students, and families. A Principal Search Committee will be formed, including Catholic school leaders, representatives from the Diocese, and members of the parish and school community. This group will develop a position statement to be shared in early June, with the first round of interviews anticipated to begin in the Fall of 2026.

We will continue to provide updates through our regular newsletters and a dedicated Principal Search page on our website.

Please join me in congratulating Dr. Flynn and thanking her for her service to OLPH and its mission.

Thank you for your continued support of our school community.

In Domina Nostra, Beata Virgo Maria de Perpetuo Succursu

A Letter From Dr. Flynn

Dear OLPH Community,

It is with both gratitude and care that I share that the 2026–2027 school year will be my final year serving as principal of OLPH. This decision has not come easily, and I am deeply thankful for your trust and support over the past seven years. It has been an honor and a privilege to be part of a community that feels like family.

When I first arrived in the summer of 2019, I could not have imagined the ways OLPH would shape both my professional and personal life. Together, we have navigated a global pandemic and seen countless improvements to our campus. Yet those milestones pale in comparison to the small, everyday moments that form the true fabric of our community. From car lines and tying shoes to cheerful greetings of “Good morning” and “Go Rams,” OLPH is a place where connections are built and relationships endure.

There are so many traditions and moments I will carry with me—celebrating All Saints Day, watching our students participate in the buddy program, sharing Thanksgiving Lunch, and enjoying our Christmas concerts. Most especially, I will always treasure hearing our students sing during Mass. These experiences are what make OLPH so special, and I look forward to one more year of celebrating them together as we prepare for an exciting new chapter in our school’s story.

Personally, OLPH will always be a foundation for our family. It is where my husband attended school, where we welcomed and baptized our two daughters, and where we look forward to the arrival of our third child this August.

By sharing this decision now, we hope to provide our community with the time and space to thoughtfully identify the next leader who will guide OLPH into its future. This intentional timeline ensures we remain in a position of strength and allows for a smooth transition. I remain fully committed to OLPH and look forward to supporting this process in every way over the coming year.

God bless, and Go Rams,

Caroline Carlin Flynn, Ed. D
Principal, Our Lady of Perpetual Help School
